Valencia CF lost to Rayo Vallecano in Saturday’s game at Mestalla (0-1).
The match started with an attacking play by Valencia CF in which there was a push to Germán Valera inside the area in which our players claimed a possible penalty.
The protagonism in the initial stretch, however, would be for the rival team, who took the lead on the scoreboard in the 6th minute through Ciss, who headed into the back of the net from a corner that came from a possible offside situation.
At the end of the first half, Valencia CF, through Luis Rioja, put a dangerous cross into the small area that Rayo Vallecano managed to get between the defenders and the goalkeeper. It would be the most dangerous action for our team, who went to the break with the aim of reacting to try to tie the game.
After the changing rooms, Valencia CF tried to increase their attacking with a greater incidence in the game by Javi Guerra and Luis Rioja. The team had a few chances but it wasn't enough.
The team will look to get back to winning ways next Friday against Real Valladolid.
